Gong and Fa
Here is something that I shared with a friend today.
- Learn principles, not techniques.
Principles will take a long time to learn and get used to. In the meantime, abilities do not come out of principles instantly. Be patient. - Train the techniques, not principles.
- Techniques must eventually become representations of principles. They are not apart from each other.
- Have a clear understanding of what Gong is. In our system, Gong and Fa are one. But at the bottom, it is Fa, not Gong that we train. We train the Fa (technique) until it becomes the same as Gong. We do not train the Gong to get Fa. Gong is the principle behind. Fa is the action.
