Grab, Root and Push

Chen Zhonghua with Josh LandauAt the four-day workshop on Toronto from Jan. 15-19, 2015, I taught the basic principles of push hands action again. It is to:
  1. Grab: get hold of your opponent. Secure a hold. Hook him. Grab him.
  2. Secure your foot: Anchor your foot, pivot your foot, root your foot.
  3. Act: Push, pull, twist, act.
[login-protect]We tested the technique with a a lot of push hands exercises and the a mini competition. In the end it is all clear to all that we still don't have the ability to establish a firm hold before the action. The simple principle of contact, don't move, act must be followed.[/login-protect]
