Primary movement and secondary movement

There are two types of movements in Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method.
  1. Primary movements.
  2. Secondary movements.
Primary movements are actions we take in Taijiquan. They are the techniques that we used in applications and in combat. This type of movements carry power and energy.

Secondary movements are connections between actions. They are the transitions in taiji movements. They join one action with another, making the overall taiji movements flow like a river while maintaining martial abilities.
